From Cottonwood Grove to Cottonwood Resort
The area East of the Spillway was once known as Cottonwood Grove for the abundant cottonwood that grew. A.O.T. Andrus built in 1871. Later it was known as Cottonwood Resort and Marquard's Cottonwood Resort. Duffy and Powell later purchased part of the property which is still known as Cottonwood Trailer Park. Marquardt's Cottonwood Resort is now known as Sabo's Campground and Aries Medical Center.
